But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish the course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

²  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations; ³  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

As thou knowest not what is the way of spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:  but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

¹¹  Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  and why art thou disquieted within me?  hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
