Back in My Place!

Back in My Place!

Back in My Place!

And I even got to make the eggs!  Last night Cindy and I returned home from a twenty-six day trip to the Orient.  To say I was glad to be home again is an understatement.  I am so grateful.

And I am so blessed!

I couldn’t have felt more happy and secure in God’s love than when I awoke early this morning and attended the Men’s Breakfast at Church.  It was so good to see the familiar faces, but even better to feel the spirit of Christ as He moved among the men there.

This is just one important reason why we go to Church.  To Fellowship with other Christians.

In Matthew 18:20 KJV, Jesus told us “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”  This was so evident this morning.  As we talked this morning, I was like the square peg back in its square hole.  I was back in my place, I was back in God’s house and ready to work for him again.  Being there with these men of Christ invigorated me.

Over the course of my trip, I had kept looking for items to write about, but I didn’t see them.  Though I saw many, many things.  Things that I will wonder about and try to understand for a long time to come.   I believe that God was just letting me do some fact finding.  And one of the biggest facts as showed me this morning  was the importance of your Church family.

We go to Church not only for ourselves but for others too.  Sure, we go to receive God’s word and learn more about its meaning, but we also go for another purpose as well.  One that is the major reason why I am here writing to you now:  You go to reflect the light of Christ to others.  As many of the people of Highland Park reflected this light upon me when I first came to Highland Park, you can reflect it as well.

Think about it.

When someone visits our Church they are looking for Christ.  They are looking for him both in the Church and though they may not think about it, more importantly in the people that say they serve him. If we don’t go to Church we could be depriving someone else of the blessing they need as well as your own.

A friend of mine stated that he was first drawn to Highland Park because there were always cars in the parking lot.  That told him things were happening there.  So he visited and he saw and felt the spirit of God in the people that attended.

That was when he knew he had found HIS Church and it’s the same way I found mine and it was so good to return to it this morning.  And they even let me cook the eggs when I got there.

I am so blessed.
